Brough Superior: Yet Another Vintage Brand Coming Back

Not the new Brough Superrior, but isn't this pretty? Click to embiggen!

I won't lie: I get excited when I hear about vintage marques being revived. Sometimes the new company entirely misses the mark, sometimes they hit it dead on. One thing that is for sure is that not many of them actually get past the "look at this pretty bike we done built up" stage. But they do, occasionally, build up some very pretty bikes.

It's hard to say if Brough Superior is going to get past the "we built a pretty bike" stage.

I'd like to post some photos of the new machines, but they won't allow me to easily swipe them from their site, so I'll just direct you over there. Go ahead and have a look (link will open in a new window).

I personally think the new Brough kind of misses the mark, but maybe one of you can point out how it is awesome and lust-worthy.

What are your thoughts?

Oh, by the way, if you want more awesome pics of a Brough Superior, Gary France had a post recently featuring a Brough Superior at a certain salt flat where people go fast.  Stop by and check them out if you haven't already.

Looks kind of retro but modern at the same time.

BTW, I'm enjoying your NaNoWriMo!

We were just talking about this at coffee last Saturday. The consensus is still out on what it will be like.

One retiree was surprised it was making a comeback.

Richard M - It does. I'm still waiting for the design to click for me. It probably will when I least expect it.

And thanks!

Trobairitz - It definitely wasn't a brand I was expecting to make a comeback, but of course I'll be rooting for them to succeed.

meh....Not something that really reaches out and grabs me. I don't see it grabbing enough market share to make it successful.
