No Pizza, but check out Falcon Motorcycles!

Ever get that sinking feeling when you realize you forgot to do something like, oh, format the pictures for a pizza review?

There aren't a whole lot of custom builders that get my interest. For the most part, everyone is building what everyone else is building. I like Exile, they've done some cool stuff. I like that Confederate does something different, though I wouldn't be caught on one. And now, there's Falcon Motorcycles (beware awful site navigation scheme). They've built some tasty bikes. My favorite is the "Bullet Falcon." It appears their design method is "take apart old Triumphs, keep the good bits, and slap 'em in a new frame."* So, I guess, they aren't really doing something new so much as just doing it well.

*Update - I didn't mean to imply that these guys are only putting Triumph parts in a new frame. If that was the case, it would be obvious, and I wouldn't have been intrigued. It's plain to see there's a lot of work put into each bike. Perhaps I should have said they take old Triumphs apart, keep the good bits, and reconfigure them into something wonderful.

Hey - I know the falcon guys- they don't just "take old pieces and slap em in a new frame" :D ... Ian Barry is an amazing machinist and fabricator, spent about 1000 hours building the falcon -- go into the falcon site and look at the Interception (great mag. for Auto buffs) Magazine article, that'll give you an accurate idea of what falcon actually do. That Times piece was completely inaccurate on so many fronts.. including leaving out that Lee said the bike was uncomfortable only when referring to it being a racer rather than a bike built for cruising across the country on...I agree though, cool bikes. even better in person

All rigid bikes are kinda uncomfortable because they weren't built for comfort but that bullet bike looks lush for a rigid, the builder looks like he even put in leaf-suspension and all. Beauties.

the site navigation rules!! That Times journalist didn't do her research talking about the juxtaposition of Earl Hickey and a motorcycle ? Jason Lee is one of the top pro skateboarders in the world he's a legend and a "bad ass bike" as she says, is the only kind of bike that would be fitting with him in my view. Also that bike is in no way a bolt on it's rad and from what I can tell looks custom to the hilt with a few rare vintage pieces thrown on

Been a fan of Ian Barry's for years but he's outdone himself for sure with this one.Lees one lucky man

I think they look like a Chica custom without the V-twin, and not quite as clean or pretty to look at. But still nice.

Why do I feel like these bikes are missing a few parts (they look so empty). Way cool though!

Jesse James and Garage magazine just gave them "2008 Custom Culture" award at the Legends motorcycle show! They deserve it.

Gorgeous bikes and I like the way they used the transmission gears to navigate the site. Very nice!!!
