First off, there was Barbarella Restaurant & Bar in La Jolla. This place was packed on a weekday night during the off-season. And, hey, Barbarella was totally hot. That should be a good sign, right?
Wrong. This place was adequate. Much as Applebee's is adequate. I hate adequate. However, it was extremely entertaining watching all the rich folks feeling superior and eating crap.

Next up, the Mona Lisa Italian Restaurant. This place was so good, I couldn't even wait for breakfast to eat the leftovers. They were gone by the time I went to bed.Great atmosphere, and an italian grocery attached so a thirsty biker can snag a six pack of Peroni for later.

Your first mistake was eating in LaJolla, this was the town that PAID the city to not fix their streets until the ciry stepped in, took their money and fixed the streets anyways. LaJolla is good for fusionesque styles of food. All of the really good, oldskool style pizza places are gone. Everything has been either sold to new owners, or are a new restaurant/chain.
