The Novel Is Done

...And so, I threw down this challenge, and smote it's ruin upon the mountainside.

Ok, so rephrasing Lord of the Rings quotes is nerdy. That's ok, because I've written a novel(that isn't half-bad). Have you ever seen a novelist who ISN'T nerdy? Even Chuck Palahniuk is a bit dweeby looking.

Anyway, since that crap is out of the way, we'll soon return to our regular programming of moto-rants and pizza reviews.

Finished reading your novel- love it. Just went to the library and checked-out The Long Dark Teatime of the Soul to get back in-touch with Adams' work. My wife and I read the Hitchhiker's Trilogy together, the first time I had read the last book. We found the ending to be rather lame compared to the rest of the trilogy. Just didn't flow the same. I want to find more of his work. That might require going to a book store. Don't have money for that right now. There is a need for humorous fiction like this. I try to find it in the library, and usually there is some obvious environmental or political message attached to the story line. I just don't like it. I hope you write some more.

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I had a lot of fun writing the darn thing.

I certainly intend to write more. And, with some hard work and an incredible amount of luck, my book might be in stores in two years or so... :D

You might want to check out Christopher Moore's books. He is funny, funny, funny. I've ready "Lamb - the gospel according to Christ's childhood pal Biff," and "A Dirty Job." Now that my book is done (until January when I start editing and rewriting), I plan on getting myself to the library and checking out more of his books.

The first time I read Doug Adams was in 1984. I was in the hospital, with my back broken in three places, compound fracture of my left big toe, cracked ribs, and multiple internal injuries... my worse motorcycle crash ever.

My first wife, may she rot in hell, brought in "Hichhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" for me to read while I recovered.

Do you have any idea what it feels like to read something so hilarious and addicting, when every laugh causes excruciating pain everywhere?

Went through a LOT of Demerol during that month in the hospital.

Anyway, I'm a bit more than halfway through, and enjoying this in between headaches from my latest battle with physics.

I'll check in with you later, once I've read the whole thing. Really, good stuff so far.

Ride well,
=gc=

Now that you are back to pizza and riding, I thought I would challenge you to try a restaurant in my neck-of-the-woods. Decent Pizza on Monroe St. here in Tallahassee is pretty good. Large slices of pizza bigger than your head, a huge list of toppings you can put on them, good beer, decent atmosphere, and normally, a couple of cute gothy-looking girls behind the counter.

Gary - Thanks! I hope you enjoy it, and that it doesn't cause you too much pain.

John - Duly noted, sounds like my kind of place.

Tallahassee...
Tallahassee...

...Wait a minute, that's in Florida. Hmm, I hope they're still open when I get out that way. :D

Wouldn't be much of a challenge if the restaurant was in Phoenix...
