Then reconnect the battery.

or

2) swing into a Autozone or such parts store that has a computer scan tool. They'll give you a read of what the stored code is and can reset the light for you as well (for free).Allen Maddinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03975320122826127770noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13520267.post-25376994982145842492009-07-30T18:47:04.208-05:002009-07-30T18:47:04.208-05:00im glad the engine light shut off. now if only i c...im glad the engine light shut off. now if only i can get my car to do the same... :)mq01https://www.blogger.com/profile/11742343758057005313noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13520267.post-6446461954935268342009-07-29T21:31:34.952-05:002009-07-29T21:31:34.952-05:00Irondad - I think you finally figured it out. I wish I knew the secret code for my car though - the engine light has been on now for the better part of a year and I REFUSE to pay the dealer $150 to turn it off!Canajunhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17529505799866207528noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13520267.post-50962166748876221452009-07-29T18:22:55.689-05:002009-07-29T18:22:55.689-05:00I hate that, too. It seems like the shops disconnect the battery for everything, even an oil change.

I'll be watching here for the third heat cycle for relief or freaking. That seems a weird way to clear the engine light. No worse than my brother's Tahoe, I guess. That involves turning on the key, pumping the brake pedal a certain number of times, etc. Do engineers do that so they can laugh at people?

Sounds like a zombie thing.irondadhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17821323482397075170noreply@blogger.com
