...And so, I threw down this challenge, and smote it's ruin upon the mountainside.
Ok, so rephrasing Lord of the Rings quotes is nerdy. That's ok, because I've written a novel(that isn't half-bad). Have you ever seen a novelist who ISN'T nerdy? Even Chuck Palahniuk is a bit dweeby looking.
Anyway, since that crap is out of the way, we'll soon return to our regular programming of moto-rants and pizza reviews.

The Final Stretch!
There are less than 4,000 words to go on my novel. The end is, indeed, in sight.
This is good news for me and those of you who are irritated by the lack of pizza and motorcycle posting here on The Great Motorcycle Pizza Tour, but bad news for those of you hoping the story will never end. Once it's finished, I guess all you fans (yes, both of you) are just going to have to wait for me to finish editing and get it published. Then you'll be able to go to the bookstore and help put a little extra coin in the Moto-Pizza-Touring purse. Not to mention the inevitable fun of my book tour. Right now my autograph isn't worth much, but we'll see if that changes after I'm on the NY Times Bestseller list.
Anyway, get reading. 3 new chapters are up so far from this weekend, and if things go well, I might add another one tonight.

Fun from Every Direction
This weekend Lady Luck completed the MSF Basic Rider's course. Big props to her, as she took the course on one of the school's bikes, and she'd never ridden a motorcycle before, just twist-n-go scooters.
I didn't accomplish quite as much this weekend, apart from a lot of writing, and getting the initial disassembly of the VX started.
Speaking of which, my project for next month, which I intend to document here, will be getting the VX running properly and licensed again. Wish me luck.
Finally, in novel news, chapter 26 is up. Things are starting to come to a head, so now would be a good time to get caught up if you've been slacking. Go read it!

That's a whole lot of writing
Not much moto-news today, but I'm up to Chapter 21 on my novel. You should go and check it out, as soon as possible. There's all kinds of craziness, with people getting hit by garbage trucks, guys who dress like Humphrey Bogart, someone getting locked in the trunk of a car, and repeated auto theivery!
WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR???

How Novel!
Not much to say today. Lady Luck and I did much riding, and went to an art festival. It was most premium.
I pounded out a huge chapter (for me) today. Go read chapter 17, and be amazed by evil doings, head-bonkings, and more!

Good times!
Well, just so you know, I HAVE been doing things besides novelling this much. Granted, I haven't been doing a whole hell of a lot else...
Anyway, today I rode down to South Mountain with Lady Luck and our friend The Lizard Queen. The Lizard Queen doesn't actually ride, yet, so we stuck her on the back of my bike and I proceeded to scare the hell out of her by dragging my knee through most of the curves on the way up the mountain. This wasn't deliberate, though. South Mountain has some particularly delightful decreasing radius turns that I forgot all about. So, I'd go into the curve at a perfectly reasonable speed, but my reasonable speeds would quickly turn to "thrilling" speeds.
I slowed way the hell down for the rest of the ride. I'd hate to scare someone off of riding, especially when we're working so hard to get her to buy a scooter of her own.
So, for those of you who are reading it, another chapter of my novel is up, and it's chock full of strange locations, bizarre sights, ensuing hilarity, and drunkeness. What's not to like? Go read it!

Woo hoo!
2 more chapters up today. Go read 'em already.
Also, if you'd like to read a GOOD novel being put on the web, go read The Neddiad. It's by Daniel Pinkwater, a real live writer who's been published and everything. Apparently they're putting the rough draft of his novel out there, one chapter a week. I've been reading it, and really grooving on it. You'll probably notice I've taken inspiration from some of it.

Much distraction for you today!
Chapter 10 is up. It oughta help your work day pass just that much quicker.
I got a very exciting new toy this weekend. It's not motorcycle related, but it's awfully neat. Pics later.
Baldy-Beard and I also rode to see a world championship boxing match on Saturday. We got thoroughly hosed on parking. Parking for cars? $10. Parking for bikes? $11!!! What the ever-loving fuck was that? We should have gone somewhere else, but we didn't find out that parking was more until we had parked and the attendant told us.
Shoulda left, didn't. Oh well.
For those that are interested, there is a new world champion boxer. You might have seen the fight on Showtime. It was the most boring fight in the world until the very end, when the champion got knocked out, and actually fell out of the ring. It was crazy.

A little something extra for you
I know my posts on this blog haven't been real exciting. It's because I'm writing a novel, in case you missed it. 2 new chapters are up, but the way. GO READ THEM!
Now, since I'm not going to write a proper post here, as I would rather go to bed, here's a link to an absolutely awesome racing video. This is what racing should be like in the U.S. Instead we have NASCAR, possibly the least interesting use of speed ever.
GO WATCH THIS AMAZING VIDEO. Listen to how excited the commentators get. Some of their remarks are hilarious.
